Passenger fine payment platform – fines.osy.gr

Tessera designs and implements solutions that simplify complex processes and bring digital transformation one step closer to citizens.

In this context, Tessera developed a comprehensive digital platform for the management and payment of fines for OSY S.A., which operates in road-based urban transport in Attica, running buses and trolleybuses under the supervision of OASA. The platform is available at:

Simplification of a complex process

Until recently, paying fines on public transport was a time-consuming process involving multiple steps and delays.

The new platform completely transforms this process, allowing citizens to easily search for their fine using the relevant code and gain immediate access to all necessary information.

Through a unified interface, the user can:

  • View the amount of the fine
  • See the details of the violation
  • Benefit from available discounts/reductions
  • Complete the payment online, without delays or unnecessary steps

A key role in the user experience is played by the provision of detailed instructions, both on the platform’s homepage and through a dedicated support page, featuring text and screenshots that guide the user step by step throughout the payment process, reducing the likelihood of errors and enhancing the sense of security.

Design approach

The platform was designed with universal access and ease of use in mind:

  • Access is available from both mobile devices and desktops, across multiple browsers.
  • A fully responsive design was implemented, dynamically adapting to any screen.
  • Emphasis was placed on a simple and intuitive user interface (UI/UX), ensuring the process is clear.
  • The implementation follows accessibility standards for people with disabilities (WCAG 2.x).

Advantages of the designed solution

A key advantage of this project is the ability to unify the process for transport organizations. It is a system that supports different fare rules and categories and can be extended to new organizations, ensuring consistency and better control.

Additionally, it contributes significantly to optimizing the operation of organizations, as it reduces administrative workload, relieves congestion at physical service points, and provides better monitoring and management of processes.

At the same time, the platform is not limited to fine management alone, but overall enhances the citizen experience. It provides immediate information, clear guidance and ease of use, allowing the process to be completed without physical presence and strengthening trust in the services.

The implementation of the fines.osy.gr platform by Tessera is another example of designing solutions that focus on functionality and the real needs of the user.
