The research proposal submitted under the special initiative ‘Open Innovation in Culture’ by a collaborative consortium, with Tessera participating as the Project Coordinator, has been approved for implementation.
The initiative aims at the «implementation of landmark research, technological development, and innovation projects through the development of products, services, methods, original research devices, new technologies, or other innovative applications and processes. Its key intervention pillars include the diagnosis, preservation, documentation, and promotion of monuments, artworks, artifacts, and other historical cultural elements»
The funded research project is titled “Mixed Reality and GeoINformatics for Monument Demonstration” (acronym: MERGIN’ MODE, Project Code: T6YBP-00297). It concerns the development of a cultural information system aimed at the demonstration of monuments through the merging (MERGIN’) of the real and the virtual into a Mixed Reality (MixEd Reality) environment, supported by GeoINformatics technologies
Project duration: 30 months, starting on October 11, 2019, and ending on April 10, 2022.
