Tessera created a series of educational games for the children’s section of ‘ODYSSEAS’ portal of the Organization for the Promotion of Greek Culture. These are educational online games developed using Flash technology supported by a database. The games feature different difficulty levels as well as high scores.
At the same time, a special management application has been created, through which the games can be easily updated by the staff of OPEP themselves, without requiring any programming knowledge.
Specifically, for the needs of the project, an online adventure game titled ‘Adventures at the Museum’ was developed. This game is multilingual, features multiple scenarios that can be easily changed and enriched, and the same applies to the multimedia content of the application.
For easy scenario creation, UBScript was developed, a scripting language built on AS2. Using UBScript, game development is possible without requiring knowledge of AS2 or the Flash environment itself.
