forDiabetes 2.0 has arrived

The new version of the forDiabetes app comes fully redesigned, aiming to deliver a cleaner, more functional, and more meaningful experience for everyday diabetes management.

Focused on the user and their real needs, forDiabetes 2.0 brings together data, tools, and automation in a single environment, significantly simplifying the monitoring of people with type 1, type 2, LADA, gestational diabetes, and prediabetes.

All Your Data in One Place

The new version places strong emphasis on data consolidation. Users can record daily:

  • blood glucose (mg/dL or mmol/L)
  • blood pressure and oxygen saturation
  • body measurements (weight, fat, muscle mass, water)
  • nutrition, medication, and physical activity
  • lab test results

All data is organized into a unified timeline, providing a complete picture of the user’s daily life.

It is important to note that the app works fully offline, storing entries and automatically syncing them when the connection is restored, while ensuring a seamless, ad-free user experience.

Connectivity with Health Devices

forDiabetes 2.0 leverages modern connectivity features, allowing synchronization via Google Health Connect and Apple Health, or direct connection to glucose meters via Bluetooth.

Popular devices such as Accu-Chek and Contour are already supported, with the list continuously expanding. This enables more automated and reliable data tracking.

Built-in Tools and Calculators

Consistency is key in diabetes management. The new version allows users to create reminders for:

  • glucose measurements
  • medication intake
  • doctor appointments
  • daily activities

Users can also fully customize how often reminders appear, based on their personal schedule.

Additionally, new calculation tools have been added:

  • HOMA-IR (insulin resistance estimation)
  • GFR (kidney function estimation)
  • ASCVD (cardiovascular risk estimation)
  • BMR (basal metabolic rate calculation)

These complement existing tools such as HbA1c (glycated hemoglobin), Bolus (insulin dose calculation), and BMI (body mass index).

Progress Tracking and Personal Goals

The app provides detailed weekly and monthly charts, along with key metrics such as time in range (TIR) for glucose levels. This allows users to identify trends, evaluate progress, and better understand their condition.

At the same time, users can set personal goals for:

  • glucose levels
  • physical activity
  • calories and carbohydrates

The app automatically tracks progress, encouraging consistency and user commitment.

Emergency SOS Feature

A notable addition in this version is the SOS feature, which enables users to instantly send their location via message to a trusted contact or their physician, adding an extra layer of safety.

forDiabetes – A Step Toward a Better Life

This is not just a logging app, but a comprehensive self-management tool. With a focus on simplicity, consistency, and meaningful support, forDiabetes 2.0 equips users with everything they need for better control and informed decision-making.

The new version of the app is available on the App Store and Google Play.

The project “Innovative Digital Hypoglycemia Prediction and Diabetes Self-Management System with Artificial Intelligence Technologies” is within the framework of the “Research – Innovate” Action and is co-financed by Greece and the European Union (European Regional Development Fund – ERDF) through the NSRF 2021-2027.
