Action ‘Upgrade of SMEs’

The project (code: N4MM-02134) was included in the action ‘Upgrade of very small & small enterprises for the development of their capacities in new markets’, which aims at improving quality and creating new products and services, with a budget of 310 million euros.

The project involves the design and development of a platform that will function as a tool for recording issues and complaints related to the responsibilities of a Municipality in terms of improving neighborhoods and local areas.

The platform consists of a mobile application compatible with Android and iOS devices, as well as a web application.

The goal of the project is for the application user to be able to:

  • report a problem they have identified
  • record an incident at the exact moment it occurs
  • suggest ways to improve and resolve a situation,

which falls under the Municipality’s responsibility.

The Municipality is automatically notified of the report (through the web application) and can manage it promptly and effectively, while simultaneously updating the citizen/user of the application on the status of the report until its final resolution. In this way, constructive communication between citizens and the Municipality is achieved, problems faced by residents are resolved more quickly, and the quality of life of citizens is improved.

The target audience of the project consists of: a) the residents, who now have a strong communication channel with the Municipality to raise issues that require attention,
b) the Municipalities, which gain an overall view of the incidents within their jurisdiction and can coordinate necessary actions more effectively to resolve them.

Indicative benefits from using the application for both citizens and Municipalities include strengthening communication between them, immediate problem management, encouraging active citizen participation, and consequently improving the quality of life in local areas.

Funding and Action Identity: The program ‘Upgrade of very small & small enterprises for the development of their capacities in new markets’ is included in the Priority Axis ‘Entrepreneurship development with Sectoral priorities’ (PA 1 and PA 1S), specifically under Thematic Objective 3 ‘Improvement of the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises’ and Investment Priority 3(c) ‘Support for the creation and expansion of advanced capacities for the development of products and services.’ The project is co-financed by the public expenditure of the program from the Greek State and the European Union, specifically through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
